To the Family, I was Honored on June 20 this year in Marseilles, Illinois at the Illinois Freedom Run and Mideast Conflicts Wall Memorial to read the name Joshua C. Blaney. I am sending my most sincerest condolences on the loss of such a fine young Soldier and Hero. Being a Gold Star Father myself, I know the pain you all are experiencing. Know he will never be forgotten.

Josh, son, I miss you so much. This Memorial Day Weekend we will be going to Ft Benning, Ga for the dedication of the wall for the fallen soldiers of the 173rd. Your name will be on there as well as on a brick paver going to the new museum. I know it will be a bitter/sweet time. I'm so honored to have you as my son, but I wish you were still here with us. You were taken much too soon, before you got to have a family and life that you wanted. We will stay with Lucy and her husband. They are stationed there now. She is expecting her 2nd baby, a girl. I just wish you were here to see your friends babies and to have one of your own. I am so saddened that I don't have a cute, chubby, whitehaired little grandson to remind me of you, and watch him grow. I miss you soooo much!! I hope you know how very much you are missed and loved. To my precious, sweet son, you will be remember this memorial day and always. Love always, MOM:(
