Ken and I send our sincere sympathies to the Norling family. Betty and Jay were so good to our son Jeremy as he shared a great friendship with Mike Smith.

You no longer are with us in body but always with us in our hearts.

Betty was the Head Cook at Sunburst Elementary my first few years after marrying Rick. I was astounded at the salad bar. I would put it up against any salad bar in any fancy restaurant...a variety of fresh cut vegetables, fresh fruits, homemade salads, pudding, and yogurt. Her legacy goes on. All Sunburst Schools cooks have followed her lead. Our Sunburst students/teachers get the best hot lunch program, hands down. Betty spoiled my husband, Rick, because he had been a single male teacher there for a few years before I came along. I got to enjoy her sweet demeanor because she loved my man. The earth has one Angel less, Heaven one more. What a reunion they must be having in Paradise!

You will be missed greatly. I will always remember the days of you cooking and Craig and I coming into the lunch room and he wanting to hug his friend Betty. You were truly a very "special" woman who has touched so many, young and old folks. A rough exterior but a true marshmallow inside. The talks and times we spent together will never be forgotten. God has yet received another angel going home and celebrating with those with whom have gone before her. Praise the Lord.
