Sylvia Elaine (Etl) Stotlar, 58, of Sterling, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, in Loveland. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Plainsman Grill on Highway 14.
She was born on Dec. 15, 1954, in Sterling to Carl and Ann Etl. She grew up in the St. Peter's area and graduated from Fleming High School in 1973. Many knew her for her clothing store, Classy Casuals, which she opened in 1981. Sylvia's hobbies included shopping, reading, gardening, traveling, and being with her family. In 2008, Sylvia was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which led her to her facilitating a cancer support group.
Sylvia married Dr. David Stotlar on Aug. 30, 2002.
Sylvia is survived by her parents; husband, David; son, Dan Vandenbark-Woodward and spouse Ron; daughter, Carla Bornhoft and spouse Jerry; and brothers, Jim and Dave Etl. Her greatest joy in life were her three grandchildren, Will and Ashley Bornhoft, and Torbett Vandenbark-Woodward.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Colorado Cancer Resource Association, PO Box 18, Merino, CO 80741.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of the Medical Center of the Rockies during her final days, and to all the people that loved and supported her throughout her journey.

Although I never had the pleasure of knowing Sylvia, I knew of her through her husband Dave and always wanted to meet her. Dave, I am so happy the two of you were able to have so much happiness and love together. My heart is heavy for you now but I take much comfort in knowing that we will see our loved ones again. Rest in Peace, Sylvia and God's Blessings to Dave and the entire family in the days ahead.
