Marcia, I just found out about Bob's passing. I am very very sorry. My condolences to you and your family. I remember Bob from as far back as 1969. I painted my first Vette in Bob's first garage. Later in life when I needed seat belts to complete the build of my streetrod pickup I stopped by to visit Bob at the store to get a pair. I now know that every time I buckle up in that pickup I will remember Bob.
Just read about Bobs passing on line while looking for auto related info. I didn't know Bob well but he did my Buick paint and top in the 70s and a couple other things. Top shelf, but that's understood. We went to school a couple years apart and didn't interact much at all. Everything I have read the last hour or so about what a great guy he was is absolutely correct. He was a stand up guy. The respect that he showed me was a quality far to rare today in business and life in general. I'm not good at this kind of thing but when I read the news, about 3 months late, I wanted to write something and it says this will be up permanently so I guess it's OK to write now. I ramble too much. May his family and close Friends find the strength to endure their loss and comfort knowing many they don't even know, thought very highly of Bob.
We were so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. Your in our thoughts & prayers.

Marcia, Brian and Jeff...there are no words that ease the loss of a husband and father as wonderful as Robert. He was quiet a quiet guy - until the topic turned to street rods and street rodders. He was a good friend to so many people. Two memories I have that stand out is that darn key chain that I used to pull every time I saw him - and the New Years Eve the girls made everyone dress up and Bob came in that tux! He always brought a smile to my face and will be sorely missed by the many friends who loved him. May it bring you some comfort to know that they all love you and every day you are in all of our thoughts and prayers. God bless.
Our deepest sympathy and condolences

Marcia, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You may not know this, but while building a 37 Ford years ago, Bob came to my house with a couple of other guys and installed my headliner when I put out the word I was having problems ... he never accepted any compensation and his efforts were unconditional. Years later he inspected my 30 Ford for registration purposes ... again, unconditionally. I will forever remember his kind gestures, workmanship and friendship.

It was a pleasure to work with him on the two (2) 1960 Ford wagons We both learned so much. Big problems & small problems but some how we figured them out.

Dear Marcia and family, It was 41 years ago that this tall lanky kid came to Dave Farley's shop on the Berlin Turnpike to install a new insert on my '32 coupe. These were the days of "hide-'em" welt before Bob came up with his new and improved vinyl kits. Every time I'm washing the roof of the car I remember Bob. I wish I could tell him that the top is still doing it's job--no leaks!
The hot rodding world has lost a good friend. May he rest in peace.
Dear Marcia, Jeff & Brian - our thoughts and prayers are with each of you in the passing of your dear husband and father. May all the wonderful memories your hearts hold of him give you comfort and strength through these difficult days.
