We were never privileged to meet Mr. Grandine, but have enjoyed the company of his son, Dave, and family back east for many years. Dave always admired and adored his dad and mom with many stories and anecdotes. I'm sure Mr. Grandine's legacy will live forever in the deeds and lives of his children and grandchildren. He obviously led a very rich life.

I don't know Mr. Grandine but when I saw his picture he reminded me of my dad--that smile and happy face--and that led me to reading the obituary. What an amazing life he had and what a wonderful family for writing such a beautiful tribute. I'm sure he knew how much he was loved, admired and respected. God bless you.

I met John later in life via the Hartford Bridge club and he was a mentor for us beginners and never failed to cheer everyone in the club with his sense of humor. He will leave a huge gap in all our lives and will be missed more than I can say.

Mr. Grandine was a great math teacher. (Kind and caring).
