Rick was a super nice guy and a great friend. I always enjoyed his company, whether we were discussing academic subjects or just throwing around small talk and laughing at stupid jokes. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing, and offer my condolences. -Tim; Friend of Rick

Dear Kemp Family--
May you find comfort in the wonderful memories of your son. My sincere thanks to your son for the greatest sacrifice one can give to our entire country. Thank you also to his family for raising a son who was willing to give so much. My son is also a Ranger in the 2nd/75th (Fort Lewis)--he is currently deployed. I'm sure he must have known your son and will be deeply saddened with the loss of a "brother." My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Dr. Kemp, Phyllis, and children. Our hearts go out to you during this most grievous time. Dr. Kemp, it has been a pleasure watching your children grow up for the past 20 years. I know you must be so proud of Rick! We will forever be grateful for the sacrifices that he made to protect our freedoms. Forever in our thoughts and prayers,

Wallace and Rhonda Powell

Rick,
Thank you for being a hero, not only to me, but to our country. You are the most selfless person I know, everything you did had others in mind first and not yourself. That is why you were such an amazing soldier. I am so greatful for the opportunity to get to know you and be your friend. I have so many memories with you that I will never forget. You made me smile everytime I saw youand your bright blue eyes were mezmorizing. RIP and see you again someday! God Bless you and your family!
