Cathy and I met Bob and Lorraine when we joined the Fort Myers Power Squadron last year, and discovered what wonderful friends had entered our lives. I LOVED Bob, and so valued his friendship.I have never met a kinder, more helpful and sweet man than Bob. I am so sorry that I will no longer be able to enjoy his company, but I will always keep with me the memories of what a special human being he was. His extradordinary character, his enthusiasm and his knowledge have enhanced my life, and I will never forget him. I miss him so much.

Dear Lorraine, and family,
I was very surprised to hear of Bob's passing, I had not idea he was not doing well. Much has happened over the last couple of years which has changed my life forever, and now has changed yours. These things in time make us stronger although today that will be hard to see. Give yourself time and don't give up that is your legacy to Bob and everything the two of you have shared over the years.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
With deepest sympathy.

Lorraine and girls, we are so sorry for your loss. We have known you for over a decade as friends in Palm Island. We can't help but remember Bob with his enthusiasm for fun, as he always greeted us with a big grin and his friendly chuckle. Over the years we enjoyed dinners together, a few Power Squadron meetings, and of course, Bob and the guys rallied at the NFM high school football games. We couldn't walk by your home without saying hello. He will not be forgotten, Bob was a real treasure to find as a friend and neighbor.

We first met Bob about four years ago, when we moved to North Fort Myers and became active in the Fort Myers Power Squadron. He was a great guy, one of the easiest to get to know and love that we've ever met anywhere. His loss is a blow to all of us, and we are going to miss him a lot. We also want to express our sympathy to his lovely wife, Lorraine. We really feel deeply for her. Donna Wade-Garthoff / Dave Garthoff

We met when my wife Edna and I moved to Palm Island in 2001. For years we celebrated holidays together, met at the yacht club for a good shrimp fry, or just went cruising on his boat. For over 10 years, Bob would often join the Lunch Bunch on Wednesdays and we would go to different restaurants in the area. He and Lorraine were there for me when Edna died in 2010. My friend is gone and I will miss him.
