Charles Buggs came to DC as a larger than life student to study art at Howard University and I met him while he was going to Howard. We became very good friends along with many other DC types who were involved in the arts, as well as activism, and rights issues. Buggs was a very exceptional person who stood out in a crowd without really trying. He will be very missed even from those of us who only heard from him a couple of times a year. He sent me a mask sometime shortly before his departure from this Earth. It's on my living room wall.

I am sorry for your loss. He was admired by many. God promises to bring back the good ones.

I knew that his health was failing but I didn't expect to seem him gone so soon. He was a always a cheerful and patient taxi passenger, ready for enthusiastic discussions about fishing and art.

It's a shame that Charley will no longer be teaching kids the joys of mask making, because he brought so much happiness to so many of them.

RIP Charley --- at least the fish are always biting in Heaven!

I worked with Charles for a couple years and what a wonderful person to have had the pleasure to know...you were always smiling and lauging, kind, caring, and happy. I will miss seeing your shining face! RIP Charles...prayers to your family.
