There are no words to express the sorrow of Dan's passing. He was a man with many stories, and will live in our hearts through all the wonderful tales of his life.
Peace,
Elizabeth and Don Snell

Dear Karen, Frank, and Kari:
It's a big shock to be informed of your great loss! I still remember visiting with you all on New Year Eve, 2011, at your home in Juneau. After dinner we all moved to the living room, settling down on the sofa, having enjoyable conversations, watching the TV and waiting for the magnificent Sphere to fall at Time Square at midnight. I particularly enjoyed talking with Daniel. He struck me as one of the most Friendlist,Interesting,Affectionate,
Intelligent and Gentlest Souls on Earth! No wonder people from all over the places are going to miss him! Guess what they say is true: Sometimes God brings home early the best and the brightest! Please accept my deepest condolenses!
Peace,
Margaret

Hearing of Dan's death has put me in a state of tremendous sadness and confusion. Dan's view of life and his philosophies on reality provoked many in-depth conversations that inspired much contemplation and reflection. I was very fortunate to live with Dan for a whole summer and part of a winter as he took care of a friends apartment below mine. At first, I didn't know what to make of the crazy creature that would take naps in the middle of the driveway and brew very strong batches of ginger beer (a recipe found on a BBCs rasta mouse episode). As Dan and I became better and better friends I found another truth seeker whose eccentricity was equal if not above mine. I cannot express the grief I feel over him dropping his body at such an early age. My heart goes out to his family. I can only hope that dan continues to help each of us to ask and discover the meaning of life and what it means to be human. I love you Dan. See you on the flip side.

Dan was a great friend. When my dog died last winter, Dan was the best friend to have. He was his usual, very unique character, but he was the greatest person to have at my side. His wisdom often surprised me. His care and love for all others, as well as his remarkable wit, I will always remember. Take care, my friend.

I'm so so so sorry to hear about your loss. He seemed like an all around great guy. May the God of all comfort guard your hearts during as you await the day when" death will be swallowed up forever. "(Isaiah25:8)
