My grandmother taught school in Elfin Cove and I really enjoyed hearing Dave's stories about her and growing up there. RIP...

My sympathy for the loss of your husband
father and grandfather.
David was a classmate of mine in Juneau
and always kept me in the link with his
Southeastern Alaska oriented magazine. I only found out our mother's were classmates in Douglas
High School very recently. The soul
of Alaska was always in his heart and
the last few months were dramatically
hard....my prayer are with you and your
family as your now soar w/the eagles
over the places you loved.

I remember David from Pelican days. Lots of good memories of him and his parents.

David's family goes way back as his Mother and my Grandmother were best of friends.
David's mother and my Grandparents travelled to Finland with my older sister Ellen for the Olympics when I was very young.
David was "our best man" when I married.
His family and ours was very close but as time goes on we drifted apart.
I will always remember "our time". RIP Dave ! Love you, Lana

Dave, we will miss you. Sharon, our love to you at this time. We only saw each other at the reunion in 1995 on San Juan Island. From one of Dave's many second cousins,

My condolences to all Dave's family and friends. It sounds like he had a really full life and from the picture of Dave and his beautiful wife, it looks like they were very happy and had a wonderful family. I knew Dave way back in 1959-1960 in Seattle when I had a long distance "romance" with his cousin Don. Dave became a friend and even took me to a dance as a favor to Don. I guess it was to keep me from going out with anyone else and Don could trust Dave. I remember I fixed him up with my cousin. I'm not sure why I ended up tonight finding out about his passing since I lost touch with him over 50 years ago, but I don't believe in coincidences, and I feel I should write something as he was a really nice guy.

David was a good friend and will be missed. I know he is still sharing his pictures to all.

Sharon:

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I thoroughly enjoyed the time we shared while I was assigned at the MGVC and he was driving for HAP.

Sharon, I'm so sorry to hear. I always enjoyed working with Dave at KINY. I'll always remember when Dave was Santa, arriving at the Mall via helicopter and he said .. " Hi Guy " and my kids flipped out , "you know Santa?". My prayers go to you Sharon.

My condolences to the Freming family for your loss. I always enjoyed Dave's photos -- he took one of my Dad outside of the Southeaster headquarters and mocked it up like the magazine cover. It is framed and in my parent's den. All by best to Sharon, Dee and family. David will be missed!
