I miss those evenings that you were on swing shift and I was working late in my office. You would tap on the window and come in for a cup of coffee and to share a few stories. I never met anyone else that could begin each sentence with such enthusiasm. Rest in peace my friend. You deserve a special place in the hereafter because you made your place on earth so special.

To john's family I would like to let u know how I know John . From Foothill high school. We did many things that were so funny that every time I walked up to John I could not talk with him without laughing . I remember john's laughing face and anyone around us was laughing with us. We hung around with each other after school and we went places with each other. I can say we never had a bad day when John was with us. I think of John as a very very good friend. John has went home and all of us will cry and cry. But I know John is up there looking down and trying to tell all of us not to worry he is fine and when the day comes we go home I will feel much better knowing that my very good friend John Hansen will be waiting to make me smile and laugh just like he did for years and years. Just like johns family I to feel a deep lost in my heart. I will pray for johns family and pray we all get to see John someday . I can say from my heart I did and will always love my friend John Hansen . See u John someday. Jim Greenwalt

You have my deepest sympathy on your loss. I will always be thankful that I had the opportunity to get to know John and to call him a friend. Rest In Peace John, always in Our Hearts.
John was a friend to so many people in the community that he served and loved. He was a special guy, full of great jokes and tales, a joy to be around. But, John was so much more than that. You see he really cared about people, no matter their station in life - he respected everyone and treated everyone as if they were someone special - because to John they were. And, because of who John was, and the way in which he served his community he will be missed so very much by so many. Kathy, and all of your family, I am truly sorry for your loss, my condolences are with you all.
John was the 3rd person I met when I arrived in Juneau in August of 1976. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with Kathy and the family.
He will be missed, what a a great loss to the community. My prayers and thoughts to his family and friends. When I was a teenager, he was one of the officers that always had a smile, a joke, or advice! And as I grew older he always had time to stop, chat and catch up!
John was a great friend, we always told him we felt safe when he was on duty, more than once he put us in the back seat and he would haul us around downtown. Had a great sense of humor. will miss his smiling face. Bill Thomas Haines, Ak

My love, compassion and prayers to John's friends and family. God.bless.
I worked a many a call in the streets of Juneau with him. I worked for the Fire Dept. Hansen was the best police officer I ever worked with. A great guy. He will be missed.
