Dear Freda-- My heart is so heavy on learning of Rob's death. I cherished his gentleness, humanity, humor, and intellect. Rob, my old friend, you will never be forgotten. Love, Nan
Rob, we will sorely miss you, your smile, your legal expertise and defender of those you needed a friend to represent them.
Freda and family,
We counted Rob among our most beloved friends and classmates at Northeastern. He was so kind, so intelligent, so willing to share stories over breakfast and linger over coffee as if nothing were more important than spending time with friends. We cherish the memory of seeing you both at our 30th class reunion. We will miss him greatly. You have our most heartfelt sympathies. With love, Sandy Levick and John Sullivan, Washington, D.C.
Rob was a man with a gentle smile when everyone else was in turmoil, with that grace he showed us the positive light to follow out of the dark spot of life.
To Rob's family:
I am so sorry to hear of Rob's death and of your great loss. He was a wonderful man, a devoted father, a generous colleague and a passionate, thoughtful and highly effective advocate for poor people throughout Alaska. He is missed.

To the Meachum Family: I am so sorry for your loss. I worked in the courthouse from 2003-2007 and I could always count on seeing Rob first thing in the morning to check his court mailbox and he always took the time to stop and say hello. Such a wonderful and caring man.
To the Meachum and Westman families,

I worked in the court system and Rob covered my community as our State Public Defender, I appreciated his dedication to and consideration of all those he represented.
May you find solace in knowing he was loved and respected.
Our deepest condolences to Freda and Rob's family and children. Rob came to see our sister, Dolores, on December 5, 2011 while she was hospitalized at the University of Washinton Medical Center. Our family will always remember this day and Rob's visit because he arrived when God called Dolores home. Rob's kindness and thoughfulness at our time of profound sorrow will always be remembered. I'm sure Dolores was there to greet him and thank him for his caring visit and the beautiful Poinsettia he brought for her during the final moments of her life with us. Our prayers are with you and yours at this difficult time.

I knew Rob through his work in Juneau, he was a tireless advocate for his clients and respected by many in the courthouse. I loved running into him outside of work, and he was always ready to talk. I had the priviledge to talk to him on Christmas Day, and he will be missed for a long time.
It was my honor and privilege to serve the family of Robert and Freda as pediatrician when I practiced in Juneau. One of the very finest families. I admired Robert for being a fine husband and father , a good citizen, and an otustanding lawyer. My condolences to Freda and the children.
Thinking of Rob and his family, and the many kind and thoughtful contributions he made to the world.
Rob was a wonderful man, gave his all, was classy, respectful, was proud to know him, learn from him, laugh with him, cry with him, work with him. Will miss him and we all benefit from knowing and being around him. He touched so many around him and left a positive mark on all that he touched. Will miss you much....

John and Laura Doogan and family.
Frida, Dr. and Mrs. Meachum and all-
Rob was an inspiration to me at a time when I needed it most. We attended University of Michigan together, worked at the Michigan Daily together, and had many late night conversations together. We both went on to practice law and were both drawn to help those who got forgotten in the legal system. When he firt moved to Alaska we talked about his cases, his love for Alaska, and his love for you. He knew that he had found his home, his professional calling, and his family. His death is a reminder of how we all need to reach out to dear friends who are far away, and stay in touch. I miss that sly smile, finding amusement in the simplest of things, and that wit that he always had, but also his passion for life and for those he held dear.
Dear Freda and Family we are so sorry to hear of Rob's passing. Please take comfort in knowing you now have a guardian Angel your loving husband. He lived his live well, and I hope loving memeories will help you all heal. May the Great Spirit bring you peace in the day's to come. Love you Freda wish I was there to hug you. Rosita and Family <3
Our deepest condolences to the Meachum and Westman families. He was a great man and will be truely missed.
Rest in peace Robbie. I will always remember our adventure at the track with Christine.
Freda, Gab, and to the rest fo the family, and friends of Rob. I was saddened to hear of your loss. The Montero family expresses their condolences in a large way. Rob was a great friend, mentor, and most of all an aspiration to my Aunty the late Sylvia Montero in there quest to being survivors of cancer, and to always help educate those about cancer, and the treatments that followed. Despite her loss to this horrific disease Rob always stayed vigilant and carried on to devote to others as they always had. I will miss him dearly, and our frequent run ins at Foodland, A&P, and now IGA. He always asked how my family was doing, and if I heard anything from my cousins Karen, Kenny, or my Father. There was always a conversation when we ran into each other, and not just a simple hello! Rest assured as large as his soul is he is still helping out in heaven!! Again it is without sound condolences from our family to yours that although he will be missed his spirit and goals to achieving righteousness will endure.
George L. Montero Jr.
