My condolences to the Brown family. Nina will be missed greatly. I will be in prayer for the whole family. I will always remember visiting her and enjoying a cookie and glass of milk. She always gave good advice.

Kathy, David, Jim & Heather and all of your family. I will greatly miss my monthly phone calls with Nina. We always kept in touch with each other and family news. She was 4 months older than me. What a lady of accomplishment who was so giving and supportive of family, friends and strangers.
“He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms, And carries them close to His heart...” Isaiah 40:11 NIV. My love and prayers to all of you.

Kathy, David, Jimmy and all of your family. Your dear mother will be missed by many even as far away as Oklahoma. She has been an inspiration and supporter to her family in Oklahoma. When our mother Geneva was ill, Nina contacted us often to give us advice and support. This was very helpful when going for doctor visits. I knew just what to ask to get the information we needed. I have said for years I was coming to Alaska, I almost came this past summer. I waited just a little too late. I will always regret that decision. I am still going to come some day so be expecting the only kid from the Jerry and Geneva Farmer family to come for a visit. Love you all.

From Uncle Bob and Aunt Pat in Oklahoma: We love you all and are so sorry for the loss of our dear older sister, Nina. She has always been an inspiration to us all and Bob has many great growing up memories on the farm.
Love and prayers to you all.

To all the Browns from the Oklahoma cousins, we all have such fond memories of your summer visits to Oklahoma and the wisdom of Auntie Nina of Alaska. I had the most wonderful opportunity to visit all the Brown's in Alaska the year that Kathy and I turned 40 (22 years ago to be exact). It was as if we all picked up where we left off when Kathy and I were 16. So many great memories that we will all cherish. Much love to all of you. The two sisters are rejoined again with their husbands, brothers and parents. What a wonderful family reunion!

I got to meet Nina on several occasions while visiting my Aunt Heather in Juneau. I know that she will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

I admired Nina so much. Her smile was so infectious, and matched her personality. My sympathy goes to her family.

Nina, Kathy's mom (to me), walked into the Brown family living room on 12th street and took my breath away the first time I met her, a vision in green plaid, dark thick red hair, creamy complexion ~ a beauty. Through the years I would learn to know her as strong, smart, and more than a bit sassy! Nina had excellent taste, she married "Brownie" didn't she! Her friends were chosen well, like rare coins. Oh how she loved her grand children, each and every one of them.Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Brown, Nina and Brownie for giving us Kathy, Dave, and Jimmy. Love, Mary Thomas & Family

I met Nina in the early 80s when I adjusted her eyeglasses while working at Glacier Optical. Met her daughter Katherine in the early 90s and we have become best buds. Nina will always be remembered with love and friendship. A beautiful woman with a giving spirit. Time to garden with the angels and leave the pain behind. You will always be greatly missed. Aloha!

Nina was a very special person. Last time I saw her she was gardening at the Pioneer Home planting things for people to enjoy! She will be missed.
