His upbeat and energetic personality always made me feel good each time I met him. A spirit like his will most surely live on all around the Juneau outdoors!

Sorry to hear the news. Bob Sr. was a true pillar of the community and he will be missed on the slopes and elsewhere.

Thinking of all of you. I didn't know Bob personally but was always very aware of all he did for the community of Juneau.

I was so fortunate to help Bob start the Handicap Ski Program at Eagle Crest. I made a lot of the equipment they used in the first few years. I saw Bob a week before he passed away. He was in Good spirits, as usual that day. I will miss him.

Our heart-felt condolences to the Janes family. Bob's civic involvement and positive, friendly approach has made a difference in our community. We are proud to have known him.

Bob was one of those individuals who just seems to naturally slide into the into the role of community builder and activist. The entire Juneau community will mourn his passing and there is no question his many contributions are significant and lasting. Condolences to the family and best wishes; he was one of a kind and the community is a much better place due to his efforts.

Pops was a very special man. His delight in life was apparent and he was quick to compliment and slow to complain. Pops lived a life of doing not just existing. I miss him at the JPH. Sympathy to all, hugs, and hugs.

Bob inspired me to become a Lion and not just a member but as a enthusiastic and dedicated member. I'll never forget the pep talk he gave me. I suspect I wasn't the first person he had recruited for one of his passions! RIP, Bob.

Bob always had kind words for all who crossed his path, always thinking of others. His love of the mountains and sea was always right there in his stories. If you substitute the word " skier" for "hunter" , I think the Requiem by Robert Louis Stevenson speaks of Bob"
"Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be;
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill. "
We all miss you Bob - Mark Whitman

Bob was a good friend and great man. He always instilled esprit de corps into the Juneau National Ski Patrol: "the common spirit existing in the members of a group and inspiring enthusiasm, devotion, and strong regard for the honor of the group."
