BOPP, AGNES
Age 92, of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at her home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11 AM at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater with Pastor Steve Young officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Agnes was born July 16, 1922 in Decatur, MI to James and Winifred (Calahan) Root. She graduated from Lawton High School and Kalamazoo College. Later she earned her teaching certification from Western Michigan University. On June 12, 1943, Agnes married William E. Bopp. Together, they celebrated nearly 65 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on April 15, 2008. Mrs. Bopp briefly taught school in West Branch, then for ten years in the Coldwater Community Schools at Washington Elementary and the Legg Junior High, when it first opened. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Coldwater where she taught Sunday School, served as Circle Chairwoman, President of the Women's Society, was involved with youth activities, and served on numerous other committees. Agnes was in the CHC Auxiliary for over 20 years, on the Tibbits Young Audience Committee, participated in Meals on Wheels, and was involved with many other community projects. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and belonged to a book club for over 40 years. Agnes loved people and had a zest for life, laughter and good times. She was an exceptional wife, an incredible mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and always practiced extravagant generosity. Agnes is survived by her children, Linda LaBarre of Ann Arbor, William (Marcia) Bopp of Fremont, IN, James (Janice) Bopp, Lois (Tim) Voss, all of Coldwater; her grandchildren, James (Lori) Bopp, Jennifer (Stephen) Searls, Julie (Chris) Rhody, Joshua (Megan) Bopp, Alison LaBarre, Kate (Kirk) Bell, Sarah (Mike) Gulinski, Andrew (Megan) LaBarre; 18 great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Donald C. Bopp of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; and one niece and nephew. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James Root, and her great-grandson, Rowan LaBarre. I always loved visiting Aunt Agnes and Uncle Bill at the lake. She was such a sweet, fun person. She will be missed.

So sorry for your loss... Agnes was friends with my mother Clare Vanderploeg who passed away in 2004 they were friends from a trip to Australa and from Bonita in Florida. I just happen to read the obits tonight and reconized the name .Again my condolances.
