I first met Evelyn in 1984 when I joined the Ford, Kriekard Law Firm. While she was Russ Baugh's loyal secretary and a tireless worker, she was a joyful companion to all of us in the office and always willing to help in a pinch. She was also a presence at the Farmers Market where she took great pride in her produce and flowers. It was always fun to buy whatever she had in her front yard and leave a wise-acre note. What a worker, a real dervish. She never stopped moving. And productive beyond words. All of the attorneys were jealous of Russ for having Evelyn as his secretary. A real model of commitment. A wonderful lady. She'll be missed. David McMorrow

Kalamazoo has lost a wonderful and caring woman. When I got your Christmas card with the message " see you at asparagus time " I was so happy , thinking everything was Igoing well for you. We had so much in common, our love of life, family, animals and flowers and gardens. We shared our health problems. You fought a long hard battle. I would visit your stand at Farmers Market, where you were well known for your great produce and flowers and well liked. I visited your stand at your home on Mt. Olivet, loved your produce , flowers and most of all, our visits . I'll miss you forever. Sylvia Deau

A Star has departed Kalamazoo and the farmers market. Evelyn was such a kind , hard-working, and positive woman! I had come to consider her a dear friend through talking with her at the market and the stand in front of her home. I will miss being able to get my short fats in the spring, and her smiles and conversation at other times.
