I new Jay like a second son. He come to my house to see my son Scott Landon on a regular basis. They loved each other and were best friends. They stayed best friends until we had to move after graduation where Scott would be attending college. Thru out the years Scott and Jay keep in contact and remained friends. At his funeral Scott was one of the pale bears and I know this sealed the bond between them. Jay has left his mark with Scott and I, just knowing that God can call us home early and unexpectedly. We are all watching over your family Jay, we love them even more knowing you are not there to take care of them. I will visit your site and leave messages for the family letting them know that Scott and I always have a place in our hearts set for you. God may he rest in peace and watch over all of us.
Dear Diane & Jay
Words cannot express the gravity of your loss. We pray for you both.

Diane and Jay, I just today learned of your loss. I am so very sorry to hear of Jay's passing. There is nothing more difficult than losing a child, no matter how old they are. Michael called and told me of this terrible news this morning. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and Jay's wife and children. Peace be with all of you.
Jay and I were friends in high school at Portage Central. Even though we drifted apart after I graduated in 1986, I always remembered his impish grin and propensity for coming up with plans that almost always landed us in trouble with our mothers!
My thoughts and prayers are with Jay's family during this difficult time, and I pray that they find solace someday in the fact that many lives, including mine, were enriched by his presence in it.
Diane, Jay and family,
Know that you have been in our thoughts much during these past few weeks. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the service this Saturday, but we will be with you in thought and spirit. We will see you soon.
