I was one of Mr. Baker's students at South Jr. High in the mid 70's. Every day he would stand at the door and he had a smile and a kind word for every student who entered his classroom. He had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed having him as a teacher. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Mr. Baker.

Hugs and prayers to his family. He was a favorite teacher of mine in junior high school. May memories and warm thoughts from friends help carry you through this sad time.

Many years ago Bill and his brother Nick were good friends with my first husband, John Havenaar. As single men they had a good time together. Later in life, my children were blest to have been taught by Bill when he taught at Hillside Junior High. We have great memories of him . Our prayers and sympathies to Gretchen and the family from the John and Jean Havenaar family.

Our deepest condolences and sympathies to Gretchen and family. Knowing Bill and Gretchen from 3rd. was a great pleasure. A super Christian man Bill was, and now with God, what a great thing, and he will be seen again.
Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed down here, but now you are in a much better place.

Our thoughts, prayers and sympathies to you Gretchen and your children and grandchildren in the loss of your wonderful husband, father, grandfather and our friend Bill.

We so much enjoyed serving with you and Bill in Papua New Guinea and spending time with you in Kalamazoo. We will not forget the rubber boots Bill golfed in, his sense of humor and our visit to the Bible dedication with you in Tanggu in Papua New Guinea!!!

Bill was a great teacher at Ukarumpa, PNG and served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his wife and family, Bible translation and the people of Papua New Guinea, his Gideon and church work well. He did a wonderful job as the visiting pastor of our home church, Second Christian Reformed Chuch visiting my mother at Park Village Assisted Living in Kalamazoo. He will be missed.
