”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to you. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,750 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
Mothers of our heroes, please be aware that the Project Compassion sponsors will now help cover the costs of the portraits for you to have one - regardless if the spouse of the hero has one or not!
Contact us directly at Projectcompassion@manti.com or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Kenna

I think about you often, and they are always of the stories Pat told me of you. They are great stories and I thank you for being his friend, his buddy. Kane dog is how he keeps your memory everyday. God Bless your family!

I never got to meet Kane, but I've heard such great things about him. And as the mother of three Marines, I have grieved along with you. My son Corporal Pat Mounts, was his buddy and could tell you some great things about your baby boy! A photo of Kane with a completely bald head and grenade pins around his neck had a special place on my refridgerator for 4 years until Pat took it home. Pat named his first "child" [ A Husky Dog ] after Kane, so he has his best buddy Kane still with him everyday. These MEN are the best of the best and I thank you for raising an honorable Man as they are hard to come by these days. God Bless You & know he'll never be forgotten even by strangers. Rhoda Mounts

Trying to find the right words to leave for such an honorable person like Kane is tough. I'll start with; My name is Stephanie and I went to high school with Kane. It's kinda funny cuz in all honesty we really didn't talk that much when we first met. But even from an outside standpoint you could see it in his eyes that he was destined for greatness. As our senior year went on I got to know him a little better and had the chance to spend some time with him after he returned to Vancouver from training before he left for Iraq. He was always full of such grace and inspiration. Those last few days that we spent together will always be the memory I hold closest to my heart. Lance Cpl. Kane Funke we all love you here and carry you in our hearts everyday. As i sit down with my family tomorrow I want to let your family know not only are you there with them but you are also her with us and you are what I am thankful for. The honor of a browned eyed Marine that I will one day see again...... Your Truly, Stephanie
