I met Alex when we were both freshmen at Iowa back in the fall of 1954. We took our entrance exams together. I doubt if he would have remembered me but I remembered him. My condolences to the family.

I'll remember Alex as "Hans (Potatoes) Braumbaugh" in the 1970s mini-series based on James Michner's, "Centennial." You were great Alex!

Rest In Peace Alex. You will be remembered by many people including myself.
I'll always remember the big smile on your face when you'd come down to use your boat and couldn't because I was still working on its maintenence. You never got angry with me, you just gave me a smile of understanding.

Alex Karras stood apart from other football legends who tried to act because Karras was actually good. It's a credit to his talent that he'll be remembered more as an actor than as a gridiron figure.
