Mrs. McQueen and family-
I just found out about his passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I never got to meet Dr. McQueen, but he did my hip replacement at the VA Hospital in 2006. I am an Air Force veteran. I wanted to tell him thank you so much for taking that pain away. He basically gave me my life back. This summer I am going to learn how to play polo on horseback. I was able to go back to riding in the Fall of 2007. Once again sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you and your family.

A tribute to an ICON called Dr. David McQueen:
I first came to know Dr. McQueen four knees ago. After three fairly unsuccessful knee surgery with only about an 85 degree bend in the right knee and much pain. My family doctor said, choose someone else and I had heard of Dr. McQueen and made an appointment. That was the beginning of a relationship to someone greater than any doctor, I have ever met. He was a very direct and truthful man and pretty much told you like it is. He told me every time he saw me walk in the office he knew he was looking at a challenge. I now have seven replacement including one that broke and I wore a cast for two weeks waiting on his return from South America because he was the only one I trusted to do the job. Dr. Mcqueen. wife Pat and the Kansas Surgery and Recovery Center are second to no one.
Doc and I talked every appointment of fishing at Grand Lake, a place we both enjoyed and found a few minutes away from work. He told me over and over to retire and spend more time there and get off my feet. He added 10 years so far to my career and active life thru his and Pat's care. I can never thank them enough. Doc is now at a better place with no schedules to meet and to be done. The rest of us are left behind to finish our tasks and never forget someone who was more than a doctor.
God's blessings to Doc & Pat

Dear Pat

I was extremely shocked when I learned of Dave's passing. I still cannot believe what I heard. I still remember the four years we spent together as residents. He had a great smile and full of life. He was very inspiring and very helpful for me during the residency years. I still remember the surprise on his face when I came to Flint Oaks meeting for the first time.
He will be missed dearly by me and Rina. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during these hard times.

Dear Pat and family, I was stunned to hear of Davids passing, I learned of this yesterday and it's taken a day to really settle in. Since then I've been remembering my time on his total joint rotation as a young orthopedic resident and how much I learned and enjoyed working with him. Today while performing a total knee, I found myself doing the procedure just as he taught me those many years ago and giving encouragement to my assistants just as he did for me. David was an top surgeon, excellent teacher and he deeply cared. He had a hugely positive influence on me and countless others. What more can be said for a man. God Bless you and your family through this difficult time.

Dear Pat,
I just drove in from Texas and opened my letter. I am shocked and deeply saddened at the passing of such a caring Doctor. You both always remembered me every time I came in. I even drove from Dallas for my injections just because he was the best!! I will miss his smile, his jokes, his stories, and his care. My heart goes out to you and your family. My husband and I will be praying for you through this difficult time. We wish you peace.
