Gary fought the good fight and taught us all to the end how to be proper followers of Christ. I will never forget the fire of the spirit in his eyes as he taught us at the School of Theology. His passion to teach the word and show others that to love people is to walk in the footsteps of Jesus has had an enormous inpact upon all of us. Leigh, we love you both. We greive the loss of Gary's presence with you. I will cherish and celebrate the memory his life and his inspiration always.

Thank you to everyone who has visited this site and posted a message. I am very grateful for your love and support. The best way you can honor the memory of my husband is to follow his basic teaching to "Love Everybody. Judge Nobody." By following the five New Old Fundamentals, as Gary wrote about in "Think Again: A Response to Fundamentlism's Claim on Christianity." Those 5 simple fundamentals are: 1. Christians love God with heart, soul and mind; 2. Christians try to live life so that they love neighbor as self; 3. Christians have faith in the goodness of God's creation and the goodness of life; 4. Christians live lives filled with joy, because that is the mark of one who loves God, loves neighbor and has faith in the goodness of life; and 5. Christians do not judge other people. Those who follow these fundamentals are Christians.

Gary was an inspiration to all who knew him. We enjoyed working with him and listening to his sermons, from the time he came to UCC until we moved to Estes Park. He will be missed. Our sympathy, love and prayers to Leigh and all family members.

Gary was a great guy. He was one of the few pastors that I could actually sit still and listen to his sermons. He accepted our family into the congregation at UCC. Gary was one of the nicest people I've ever met. I know that he is going to a better place where there is no pain and suffering.

Our deepest condolences to Leigh and Gary's family. I selfishly think of how I will miss Gary's friendliness, his compassion and his influence on my life, when I know my loss cannot compare to his family's. My family and I would like to thank them for sharing Gary with all of us at UCC.

Lisa and Medhi, May God grant you peace as you welcome your new baby boy and say goodbye to your dad. My heart and prayers are with you both. Leigh and Cara and Corrine, May God watch over you as you all and give you great peace.

I met Rev. Cox through his friendship and support of people and programs at University UMC. My former pastor and Gary worked together on programs I was involved in supporting - and I was delighted to attend his recent book signing. His passing saddens me, but his life is a flame not hidden and an inspiration to my own faith journey. Godspeed Gary.

Gary was and continues to be a treasure for us. He made a huge impact on our lives and we are forever grateful for having had the pleasure and priviledge of knowing him. Thank you for being willing to share him with all of us. He has truly made a difference in this world and will continue to for years to come. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Leigh,
We were so excited to join UCC upon moving to Wichita. Whether standing at the pulpit or in the hallways, Gary always made us feel right at home. His enthusiasm for life and ability to connect with others was amazing. His eloquence in preaching to all walks of life was truly a gift. We will miss him more that words can express.
