Dear Joe and Family,
Be assured of my prayers during this tough time. I have many fond memories of Gertie, her generous smile and warm, welcoming attitude. She was a wonder-full woman, one whose friendship and peace lives on in the lives of each of you, in your courage, and in your hearts.

Gertrude came to meet me at my parents' 50th wedding anniversary in 1989 and talked with me about how her husband was related to my dad. I was so surprised and never forgot her. At church and other places, she was always gracious! My thoughts and prayers are with you, Ted Winter

Dear Joe, Girls and Grandkids,
I was sorry to hear of Gertrude's passing. She is one of my favorite persons that I have always remembered from my childhood. I dont think I ever remember her without a smile or a kind word to all she encountered. Grwoing up we had great role models in our parents and people in the community. They were always giants because they stood out because of their strength in character and faith. They taught us many life lessons from their persoal examples. Gertrude was always at the front of the list of my favorite people even so many years later.

Gertrude was Jerry's (May) Godmother. I remember how gracious she was. That beautiful smile would light up a room. Her Family so close to one another a beautiful testimony to a life lived well on earth. Now Heaven is her reward. My Deepest Sympathy to the family. Patti (May) Bruner
