Dear Jim, and siblings, I knew you when I was in school at Independent Day School. Your mother was so generous to the students and I well remember a winter ice skating party at your home. I didn't know how to skate, and still don't, but it was something that I will remember all of my life. I am so sorry for your great loss, but then again, there will come a day when you will all be together again, or so I believe. My best to each of you as you face each day without her, but the memories you hold deep inside will sustain you. Dianne Pendergraft Lambert

Mrs. Jean Garvey was always one of my favorite people. She was so elegant and kind and sweet! We had several business dealings over the years with fence project's including rebuilding all of the front fences to her home on Douglas and further because people found ways to drive thru the fence constantly after it was redone!!!!!

Personnaly, for me, it was just a joy in my life to know and deal with her and Willard over the years. I'm pretty sure that God's best Angels escorted her up!

Thanks Jean, Greg Hesse

I remember meeting Jean when I was 5 years old in 1981 and started at the Independent School. She was always such a wonderful woman and someone that one could only strive to be like. Those who have been lucky enough to have known her will miss her always.

I doubt there is anything that can be said in this great lady's honor that has not already been said better by others; nonetheless, she was a major asset to our entire community for a very long time. How we shall do without her is unimaginable, but we know she would want us to keep on trying: that is her true legacy.
