To the Whitaker family, our heartfelt condolences at Neal's passing. We had contact years before at Topeka Collegiate as both our daughters attended as well. We reconnected at KState football games as our tailgating activities were adjacent. Neal made a point to come by and always made us feel welcome. He even went the extra mile when another hit our vehicle and tried to leave without taking responsibility. Neal stepped forward as a good neighbor and was therer to be counted. He did not shy from the right thing. We last spoke with him at the KState game against North Texas. He was so excited to be moving to Colorado and retirement. You will be in our prayers.
My mother Belva Ott, would like the family to know we all are thinking of you at this time. Neal was a very special person and a dear friend. He will be dearly missed,

We had some very good conversations and it was so good to see him a few weeks ago in Colorado. To all of Neal's family and friends may you be comforted by the memories of Neal. He was a good man. I will miss him.
I see he will be a missed man all over the world! Just being a teller, will miss seeing him and seeing what's new with him. For instance his new glasses or what his newest gun purchase was! Prayers go out to his family!!!
Neal and I both played French Horn in Hutchinson High School symphonic band, but lost touch after high school graduation. He had a smile that I still remember. Please accept my sympathies.
