We went to high school together. The last time I saw Melody, she was probably 18. We crushed on each other for a long time. I wrote a poem about Melody when I was 18, called "Shine So Wide" because her smile shined like that.
Life and time put us in different places. It was just a few minutes ago that I learned of her passing. Melody was always one of my favorite and most cherished memories from high school, and I will continue to miss her.
My very sincere and belated condolences to her family and friends.

Dearest Mel, I miss you so and miss our faithful calls to each other on our Birthdays. You are still on my speed dial although I can't call and wish you a Happy Birthday or sing my famous Happy Birthday MM rendition ever again. It was a habit .... a good, great and loving habit to call every year no matter where we were or what we were doing. How I wish I could call and talk and tell you how much I miss you and love you. Just because you are gone from this world I will never stop missing you and singing Happy Birthday to the best friend a gal could ever wish for. Happy Birthday Darling from both Denton and I. Lighting a candle, making a wish. Happy Birthday Dear One.
All our love,
Janette and Denton

To Donna, Doug, Andy and Willow,
One of the great joys in life was coming home at the holidays and spending time with Melody and often Andy dropping by. As I look back over the years, I have to laugh and remember fondly the presents we exchanged. She was always sure to keep me warm with gifts of wooly hats, a plastic shovel to keep in my trunk to help me shovel out of the snow, warm, fuzzy sweatshirts. As I decorated for Christmas this year, I lovingly unwrapped the Santa's she gave me. Most of them older treasures from the estate sales she would oversee. There are so many Melody stories that will remain in my heart to help keep me warm during the long and cold Minneapolis winters. I wish you all love and as we pass from this life to the next, Melody will be there to guide us.
Love, Janet

To Melody's Family & Friends,
May the love of those around you, help you through the days ahead. Hold tight to precious memories. Lean on each other for support. And cling to God's Word the Bible. James 4:8 encourages
"Draw close to God and HE will draw close to you".
With my deepest sympathy,
A Neighbor

Having reconnected on FB after many years I was so happy to hear Melody had found her man at last. Mel gave her love and shining personality freely to everyone but she didn't marry them. You are a blessed man Mark to know she is still here in your heart. As she is in all of ours.

Dear Donna, Doug, Andy, Donna and family. Melody's aura shined so brightly it will always light the way during the months and years that lie ahead for those who will miss her so very much. She was a sister to me for almost 40 years and it will take some time for me to believe she is gone from our world. I know I will see her again of that I am sure. Farewell is necessary before we can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.
Melody was smart, witty, wonderful, giving, never met a stranger, gave freely to those in need and never kept a tally. She was a Bohemian Princess who was devoted to those she loved.
She was as lucky to have all of you in her life as we were to have her in ours. She was an Angel walking among us. She walks with us still.
Melody you will be forever in our hearts, for you are our gift from above, you are unconditional LOVE.
Your sister and friend in this life and the next. God Speed Dear One.
I love you so.

Rip cousin Melody. Your love for life and family will never be forgotten. As we sit here and try and understand why so soon we also have to take comfort in the sense that you are no longer hurting. As we say goodbye in a physical form this is not the end but only a prelude to when we get to see each other again. May thoughts and prayers go out to Mark,Donna,Andy,Doug and numerous family members and friends.

To all of Melody's Family,
There are so many memories of this beautiful, funny, loving best friend of 35 years. I could always count on Mel to lift me up and always be at my side during the good times and the not so good times. I can't imagine a world without Mel in it. Donna, Doug, Andy and Willow, you have my heartfelt sympathies. I find myself remembering so many moments of laughter and sometimes, tears we shared. I am so sorry I am not able to come to pay my last respects to such an amazing women but we will be together forever, my friend.
Good night, Melody, I'll see you in my dreams.
