Grandpa meant so much to me. He was a strong man with an enormous heart. I'm so thankful he was a part of my life. I'll always remember my time with him at the lake and sitting on his lap during our long pontoon boat rides and the hot summer nights on the patio catching lightening bugs. I remember his unwavering commitment to his family and his ability to make everyone around him feel loved. He was one of the hardest workers I know…he was always doing something around the house, taking care of others or letting his grandchildren ride on his lawnmower with him. I remember the days and nights spent in his motor home. He LOVED being on the road and just going on long drives. The many stops for ice cream while on the road and his love for sweets is something he's no doubt passed on to me! I remember the joy of spending fourth of July with him every year and hitting golf balls from his lawn into the lake…everything I remember about Grandpa is a happy thought. He was and is an incredible man and I'm the lucky one that got to call him Grandpa. He means more to me than he'll ever know. I love you Grandpa.

What Grandpa meant to me....

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you
and whispered,
Come to Me.

With tearful eyes we watch you
and saw you pass away
and although we loved you dearly
we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove us
he only takes the best.
