Although I did not know Dr. White, I read an article in TIME magazine and was amazed at his life story. Thank you, Dr. White, for all you gave the world, and may you rest in peace.

Thank you for your service in WWII Dr. White. I'm sure our families' paths have crossed. My grandparents were John (Jack) and Gwendolyn McManus, Kansas City. God bless.

I never knew Dr. White, but I sure wish I had. Also an anesthesiologist, I would have been talking with the man who made our specialty go from a second-thought field to the all important place it holds in medicine today. I hope he enjoyed every wonderful journey and basked in the adoration of all those family members. It's so often that we know nothing about a great man until we read his obituary. Dr. White, thanks for your great work.

Dr. White was truly a legend in his own time. Growing up on Overhill, I was fortunate to get to know Dr. White. Apart from his many stories, I vividly remember his great sense of humor. The number of times, either on his walks or in his Mustang, that he would stop and talk with my Mother and me in the front yard - the two of them really enjoyed their (usually) humorous conversations with each other. I have very fond memories of Dr. White and his beautiful wife, Lois.
