Diane, Mary and Paul, your father will forever be part of my childhood memories. He touched the lives of so many people, and will be missed. Every story about growing up in Lenexa will include Ryckert's Market. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
Your dad was a wonderful man. He was a good friend to my dad from elementary school to the end of both of their lives. I can not tell you how many times my siblings and I stopped by Ryckert's Market on the way home from school; or the number of time's mom had us go to Ryckerts to get milk and other staples for our large family. God Bless you all, and find comfort in knowing he is now in Heaven at peace with your wonderful mother. God Bless you all in this difficult time.
So Sorry for all of you. Ryckerts Market was a must stop for our family. Chris (deceased) always enjoyed talking to Joe and the staff.
Joe was an important part of Harvey (deceased) and Roberta. tracy (deceased) and Sheryl (Gunn) family all the years we lived in lenexa. I am sad to hear of his passing.

Praying that God will comfort your hearts, uplift your spirit, and carry you through this time of sadness to a place of peace. Joe was one of a kind. He always had a smile on his face. Mom speaks about him on a daily basis, what a great boss../cousin he was. She truely loved working for him. A lot of great memories she has shared with us. I got to know Joe only during the last 5 years or so. He had already entered a senior living facility. At special family events and holidays it was a treat for me to visit with him. I enjoyed our conversations on the growth and changes he had seen in Kansas City and hobbies and interests that Joe liked over the years. I am glad I got to know Joe. His smile and welcome conversations will be missed.
I don't know how many times I went in Ryckert's as a kid, at least 2 or 3 times a week. I remember Joe always had a smile and was always so nice and always said hello. Great memories of small town Lenexa. Prayers for comfort to all of his family.
I met Joe Ryckert thru my wife after we married. We lived just blocks from his store, we always enjoyed going there to shop. Joe was a very friendly person and always helped out when we needed it.Joe will be missed by many I pray that his family will be comforted knowing that he is in heaven with the lord. Thanks Joe gor being our friend.
Joe was the best neighbor you could ask for he would do anything for anybody but more important he was a great friend he is missed so much.
I only knew Joe for a very short while, but I'll remember his ever present smile.
Diane, Mary and Paul; you took great care of your dad. My thoughts are with you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time of sorrow. Joe Ryckert will be dearly missed, but I hope the family will take comfort knowing God has a new angel.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Ryckert. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
It was a sad day in Lenexa, the day Ryckert's Market closed, even more sad today to read of Joe's passing. He was a very kind and caring man. With heartfelt sympathy to the family.
