Joe was one of the nicest men I ever knew. Very knowledgeable and willingly shared his knowledge.Truly a great friend and mentor to all those he came in contact with. He was a special friend to me as a young mechanic.

Joe was a great man, and I will always know him as my Chiefs Grandpa. We shared so many great Sundays and he was such a wonderful member of our tailgate group. So thankful I got to see him one last time before his passing a few weeks back. He lived a full life and I can only hope I have the chance to live as he did. Joe you will be missed.

To the Family of Joe Helms my deepest sympathy for your loss. He was always there to lend a hand and share ideas in organizing BSA Troop 125 events. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Helms. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

I remember you as a child, so Strong, kind, patient and loving. When I came home, my intent was to spend as much time with you as I could. Sort of making up for the time we lost. You welcomed me with open arms. You answered all of my questions and gave me so much more than you will ever know. Thank you for showing me so much love and for being the man I remember. I love you Grandpa!
