I first saw Philip on the Paramount Comedy Theater Vol#1, and never forgot his preformance. I just wanted to wish you a happy 4th of July, and say that I hope to spend some quality time with Philip in heaven one day.
God bless you.
Just had a great Chicago trip and thought of our fun trip we had in 2006 many, many times. You are so very loved and thought of often, Baby. I love you so much.
My one "L" friend, when I do something silly around the house I find myself saying "may I have a dwum woll pweeez"......then I think about you with those ping pong balls in your mouth and I laugh out loud every time! I think about you often.
Susan, Flip and I went to Riverview together in the 70's, he came to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale in the 90's and I saw him on TV and went to see his show. I had lost touch. My heart goes out to you and your family.
You couldn't help but love him.
Best, Linda Alderman Scheller
Happy 4th of July, My Love. We will light sparklers in your honor tonight. I love you and miss you with all my heart.
I miss you so much, My Sweet Juggler. I think about you all the time. I love you forever.
I can remember seeing Philip perform with Kirby when I was a young teenager. What an amazing performer and awesome guy. Such an inspiration to so many people.
A wonderful adventure began seventeen years ago today. "In sickness and in health, until death do us part." And I would do it all over again, My Sweet Juggler.?
Your "dress rehearsal" was one year ago today, My Love. I miss you so very much, but I KNOW you are at peace. Not a minute goes by that you are not loved, remembered, missed, laughed about...or all of the above! :)
I remember seeing Mr. Wellford perform in Branson in 1997. His comedy was contagious and personality and inspiration. Thank you for making so many smile.
Happy 59th Birthday, Philip. I love you. :)
Happy Birthday, Honey Bunny! Oh, I miss you so very much. I think about you constantly, and love you with all my heart.
My mom and I became friends with Philip when he was with Kirby! He was one of the sweetest men I have ever met!! I laughed every time I saw his show which was several times!! He will be truly missed!! He was definitely one of a kind!!! I'm so fortunate that I could actually call him a friend!!!!
We saw his show several times here in Branson. We just loved it. He had our grandson throw bowling pins to him. It was hilarious. Memories we will keep forever. He seemed like a very nice man, so sorry to hear of his passing, glad he has such a good home to go to. God Bless his family and loved ones.

Professionally speaking: many memories & countless laughs during Philip's time in Branson. Always one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing him Susan.
Philip Wellford! My friend, never were we together and not laughing about something, someone, or ourselves. I miss those days, but cherish the memories we made with the time we had. You and Susan have always been a blessing and good friends to me. You are gone too soon. I will miss you.
Just sent you an email, Susan. I never met either of you but share genes, birth year (1954) and a 1981 M.Div. with Philip. I am a distant Wellford cousin. Sending you condolences in this untimely loss. Julie (Wellford) Allen Berger
Happy 16th anniversary, baby! I love you so much. :)
What a beautiful written obituary - he must have been a very special person.
I only came to know Phil in more recent years through my visits at Garden Terrace with my therapy dog, Ginger. I'm so grateful that I was fortunate to spend time with him. Susan, you never faltered in your love for Phil, and your exuberance was contagious. My deepest sympathies.
I'll miss you, Flip! We shared many laughs together. You were the perfect husband for our Susie, and she loved you so much! Thanks for giving this world your love and talent. You won't be forgotten. Janers.
Oh, how I'll miss you dear friend. You will always be the twin brother I never had. Although we were born on the same day of the same year, somehow, you got the better looks! But we always shared the same great passion for entertainment! God Bless you bro...until we meet again on the other side!
Susan we are so sad to hear about your loss. Our prayers are with you.
Your friends from Margarita..Debra and Carlos
What a blessed life, full of laughs and love. To the man who taught me to juggle, behind the bar at McGuffey's with oranges, you have affected so many lives in such great ways, it was an honor to know you. God Bless you Susan, you are a Saint. CJ
I am so sorry for the passing of Phil. I did not know him but went to high school with his wife, Susan. Everyday, I enjoyed reding her posts about him and their life. They were an amazing couple and Susan did a wonderful job enjoying their life and sharing it. My condonlences to all the family memebers.
A life well lived and an inspiration to us all.
what a beautiful tribute to a beautiful man..and a couple that should be an sxample to all...you will be missed
A beautiful life story written by his loving and lovely wife. Mr. Wellford made my family laugh (very hard) many times as we watched him perform in Branson. But we especially remember his graciousness and kindness when we would meet him after his shows. A wonderful gentleman...and a wonderful life. Requiescat in pace.
Without a doubt RHS class of 72 lost a great friend Steve Ferguson
Absolutely beautiful tribute to The Juggler.
Flip was one of the funniest people I ever knew. He would keep me entertained on the bus ride home when we were in school together...sometimes the highlight of my day. What a tragic loss!
Philip is missed by many of his classmates from the class of 1972 Riverview High School, Sarasota, FL.
What a beautifully written tribute! He was definitely one-of-a-kind~ And couldn't have asked for a more loving, caring wife. He will forever be in our hearts~
Dearest Philip, You brought so much to us. Thank you for every moment. We miss you, we love you and always will. Bill and Sally Wunsch
I had the pleasure of working for Philip, he was not only a great entertainer but a wonderful person. When Susan came into his life, well let me just say this, he loved her very much. She is a great woman.
It was a pleasure knowing and working with Philip. What a talent both on and off the stage. Rest in peace my friend.
Beautifully written! He was a wonderful entertainer and great guy and will be missed....
Philip, you truly are one of a kind. I have fond memories of working with you on the road trip you did with Allen, of your many Branson shows, and simply of visiting with you and Susan at Golden Corral, McGuffey's and around Branson! Branson - and the world - loves you, Philip! Susan, our thoughts are with you, now and always. What a shining example of love, loyalty and dedication you are!
You're with us in every laugh, Philip!
All my thoughts prayers and love to you and your family.
I love you, Philip. We will always be "Two Pods in a Pea." Thank you for being a fantastic husband.
