Uncle Roy appreciated people. He gave them credit for what they knew, what they did, how they did whatever they knew. Not just credit but validation. He valued them, encouraged them, supported them. Whether it was employees, neighbors, family, he took time to enjoy them, to listen to them, to get to know them. I know this personally because throughout my life, this is the way he was with me. I was so fortunate to have known him, to love him, be loved by him and to call him Uncle.
