As someone who grew up in the neighborhood and knew Mr Bills from my days as a delivery boy for Gus'store to being a renter of his, and finally a customer of his, it's sad to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family from mine, as I found him to be an engaging, really down to earth, nice person.

Bonnie, Judith and John David. I have so many memories of your Dad that it would be nearly impossible to describe the best one. As you all know, John and Jean both played a hugh part in my growing up years and continued to be a big part of my life through adulthood and up to his death as I adopted him as a Dad at the tender age of 9. He was a great man in my eyes and the faith he had in God was amazing to see. His face would just light up when he praised the Lord. I felt very blessed to be by his side when he took his final breath and made his final journey home to Jesus. I know how you loved your Dad and and how deeply you will all miss him. But oh my, how happy he is right now walking with Jesus. He has earned his wings and will be your personal Guardian Angel. Never doubt that he will be watching over each and every one of you and your families. I also love each of you guys and all of your families and will continue to do so to my dying breath. Rest In Peace John, you were so loved
