Joe was a sweet and humble man who I was lucky to have as an uncle. He let his brother Ruby do most of the talking, but his smile spoke for itself.

I remember in the Summer of '64 when I went to Kansas City, MO to spend part of my vacation with Uncle Joe and Aunt Lil. Uncles Joe and Ruby took me to all the war museums and President Truman's residence. That was the best vacation I had, to be with my uncles and aunt. Whenever I'd visit, Uncle Joe wanted to revisit the museums. This last year I visited him and he was smiling and listening to the piano lady have a sing-a-long. He asked if I would be back to see him next year, I said I would. I still miss you Uncle Joe, but I am happy you're with family now.
