Pop Miller was a one of a kind educator. I had the good fortune of working with Pop at Carmel Junior High. Soon I became a high school principal and Pop and I were in constant contact. We competed against one another while I was principal at Richmond Senior High and he at East Meck. Mr. Miller was the absolute best. I modeled my career after Pop and my father Malcolm E. Brown. Pop did so much for so many. He will be missed by so many people but his passion for kids will never be forgotten by me.

"Pops" Miller was the first principal at Carmel Junior High school in Charlotte when I went there. I remember him because he was a no-nonsense principal who helped keep the school together when riots were the norm. Everyone respected him, and he earned everyone's trust. What a great man! -Randy, Wilmington, NC

Leroy "Pop " Miller was an inspiration to so many students when I attended West Charlotte High School (Class of 1951). He knew all students by name and loved to offer words of encouragement according to the needs of each. Family, the memories and principles of Leroy Miller will live on through all of us!
