Stephen R. Blum, 84, of Lenexa, Kansas passed away August 22, 2013 at K.C. Hospice House. A Memorial service for Steve will be held Sept. 6th at 11 a.m. at St. Michael and all Angels Church. 6630 Nall Ave., Mission, KS. Steve was born October 9, 1928 to Lawrence and Martha Blum in Kansas City, Kansas. Steve graduated from Pittsburg State College in 1952. Survivors include his wife, Edith, of 58 years and two sons, Randel K. Blum and David L. Blum. Randy and his wife, Susan, and their children, Christopher, Katharine and Elizabeth and David and his wife, Cindy, and their children, Stephen, Tressia and Anna and his sister, Martha Kern and her husband, Dr. Fred Kern of Bridgewater, MA. His successful career included 23 years with Chevrolet Division of General Motors where he held numerous field positions in different cities. After resigning from Chevrolet in 1975 Steve purchased a Chevrolet Dealership in Carthage, MO. For many years Steve enjoyed sailing in area lakes and was a member of the Johnson County Sailing Society. He was also an avid skier with his sons.
