Rural Upland resident, 79
MINDEN - Dolores M. Soucie, 79, of rural Upland died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Bethany Home in Minden.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Becker officiating. Burial will be at Upland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
She was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Minden to Carl and Dora (Fulle) Gramke.
On Sept. 21, 1952, she married Dwaine Soucie in Upland. He died in 1981.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Johnson and her husband, Rodney, of Hastings; granddaughters, Janessa, Adrianne and Cassandra; great-grandchildren, Enoch, Jeryn, Serenity, Sebastian and Amari; very special friend, Donald Hall of Campbell; brother, Merrill Gramke and his wife, Carol Mae, of Upland; niece, Rhonda Johnson; and nephew, Troy Gramke and his wife, Dotti, and their children, Carrin and Garmin.
She grew up northeast of Upland and graduated from Upland High School in 1950.
She and Dwaine were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Upland. They lived and farmed northwest of Upland. Dolores worked at State Bank of Hildreth for 17 years.
Dolores was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Upland and had served as the church organist for many years. She later became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden and was active in the ladies groups within the church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Hour Ministries or the donor's choice.
