It was a pleasure to count Charles Beach as a special friend. We both served as Chr of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and on many commitees and projects together. I held great respect for him and he will be missed. Lynwood Schrader

I'll never forget the man and his impact on everyone in Eastern Kentucky. I remember the fire of 1977 in Beattyville. Gen. Beach rode atop a fire truck barking out orders to all the firemen-a scene of such uncommon bravery. A visual imprint forged on everyone there that day that will never be forgotten. Our family extends our condolences.

What a major loss to Beattyville, to Kentucky, and to America. Our hearts are heavy tonight as we remember the legacy of Mr. Beach and all his heroic contributions that enriched our lives. It is fitting that as we remember our veterans today, we also remember the life of General Beach. He did so many wonderful things for our community, especially the city of Beattyville and the county of Lee. Let us never forget and continue his legacy.
