"Aunt Eenie" was my father's only little sister. He adored her and enjoyed her pampering after my mother died. She and her children have been so loyal to my brother. Not many women of her generation held down a full-time job,as she did, while raising her family. At her age, when many will have nothing to do with a computer, she amazed me at how quickly she picked up
on technology and used those skills to communicate with her family (and also raise a "pretend farm"!) My absolute favorite story about her, which we shared many times, was as follows. Aunt Eenie and I were in a funeral home for a visitation. She was already crying when we walked into the room, pausing to hug and tell everyone that she loved
them. When she noticed she was hugging someone she didn't know she just simply said "I don't believe I know you, but I would have loved you if I had." I smothered with laughter on the inside. But the best was yet to come. Evidently we didn't check the guest book at the door, because when we walked up to pay respects to the deceased she turned to me and said rather dryly "I believe we are in the wrong room." We covered our mouths and the tears truly rolled down our faces as we quickly, but respectfully of course, exited the room. Need I say more.....she was a remarkable woman, dedicated mother, and will be terribly missed until we see her again.
