So sorry, didn't know Ron passed in 2009. That shows how out of touch I am with that.

Ronald,
My condolences on the passing of your mother. Haven't been back to Lexington in a long time. Miss the good times in the 70's and 80's

I only met Jean once and that was on my quest for information regarding my grandfathers side of the family. Her grandmother Ella was a sister to my Great grandmother Amnea Jenkins Hill. She was so kind to invite me into her home and supply me with many names and locations of family members to help in my search. She also told me many stories about my family that I would have never known. My thoughts go out to her loved ones at this time. Even though I only met her the one time I could tell she was a truly special person.

I love my "Auntie J" because she is a person of great character who loves her sons and other relatives (like me) unreservedly, even though she knows our faults. In that sense, she is a picture of our Lord Jesus Christ who, despite our failures, loves us so much that he died to atone for our sins, that we might live with Him in eternity!

Note that I use the present tense, because death is not the end for those who trust in the salvation offered by Jesus Christ. I trust that Jean is at home in Heaven now, enjoying the rewards for her life of service here on earth. And we will see her again soon!

Dear Wayne, Gary & Glenn: I am so sorry to hear of your mom's death. I have been unable to come to the visitation and funeral because I've been going to Louisville every day this past week to be by the side of my oldest sister who is also near death. I really liked your mother and she always had a smile and a friendly wave as we saw eachother across the street. With your family in prayer - Mary Parlanti, your neighbor at 409 Chinoe.
