Joseph Swintosky

Dear Dorothy and Family,
I am in Madison with Mother and she has just told me of Joe's passing. We have just written a note of sympathy and will post it this week.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. They say that holidays are always hard when first celebrated without a loved one who has passed. I know that you will have your family with you and that you all will share loving memories of Joe with laughs and tears.

This will be our second Christmas without Louie and it helps to have family around.

Dear Dorothy:

I was deeply saddened to read of Joe's death.

My memories of Joe date back to my time at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a kind, patient, but demanding teacher from which we all benefited.

I got to know Joe on a more personal basis when I mooched rides with him to Middleton following evening exams at Bascom Hall.

I did get to see him occasionally in Lexington and of course I saw him at Academy of Pharmaceutical Science meetings.

I never did get Sheepshead in spite of Joe's best efforts.

Dear Dorothy and family - I was saddened hear of Joe's passing. Now there is another bright light in heaven with the family. I have very fond memories of our summer vacations in Kewaunee and it was always fun when the Joe Swintosky's came to Eleanor & Emil's. My mom loved receiving Joe's Christmas letter every year. I'm sure he's found his buddies and there is a table of Sheep's head going on somewhere! God's Blessing to all of you.

Mrs. Swintosky,

I am so sorry to hear the loss of Dr. Swintosky. Dad and Mom always had great times with the two of you, especially when it came to playing sheepshead. You both outstretched your arms and made our whole family feel welcomed when we moved to Lexington. For that, I will always be grateful. It is the simple things that matter most in life and I just wanted you and your family to know that you all will be remembered in our prayers.
