You were a champion on the track and will always be a champion in our hearts.

We have lost the last Great one from the 1970's. John was 100% all heart. It's sad to here of his passing. I use to love the storys Tammy Siters would tell us about John. I love the one story were John went in for Colic surgey and, the vet tech smacked John on the nose before the operation to distarct him and Tammy telling her to watch out that John dosnt forget and 2 days later John bit her in the chest.

We aont see another John in our liftime.

RIP big guy!

Dear John Henry,
While I was definitely saddened by the news of your passing, I am grateful that your wonderful handlers made sure you didn't suffer. And let's face it...32 years is a long and impressive life span for a thoroughbred. Your accomplishments on the racetrack are simply staggering. 39 wins in 83 trips postward, including an amazing 16 Grade I wins!! And to think that it all started here in New Orleans at the now-extinct Jefferson Downs. You rose from humble beginnings to the biggest stages in horse racing. You conquered all distances and surfaces. You defied Father Time and competed at the highest level, even in the waning years of your racing career. Had it not been for an injury, you likely would have kept winning for several more years. You were the ultimate competitor John...a real warrior. I consider your story to be an inspiration...a testament to what anyone with a BIG heart can accomplish. Rest in Peace you Great Champion!
