Today it's my privilege and honor to sign the memorial page for Captain Kimberly N. Hampton. The mere sight of her beautiful face with that wide and wonderful smile would be enough to let one know that here is a very special girl. Reading of her life, her service and, sadly, her death shows that special hardly begins to describe her. She chose the hard path in a tough lifestyle, while maintaining her femininity, showed purpose and determination, and at the end, proved herself to be more than worthy company for those of the Airborne who preceeded her. To her parents and family, to those who knew and loved her, to the community devastated by her loss, and to a country which would have continued to benefit from such a woman, I can only say how sorry I am that this life was cut so short. Reading about Kimberly should make each of us take stock of our own lives and try hard to make them worthy of her sacrifice. God Bless Kim, her family and her Country.
