Granddad lived a full life filled with ups and downs and run arounds. Great things and not so lovely things. No matter his nature, he gave to all his children a piece of himself to carry on to no matter where they might go. It could have been a memory of something simple or an action taken that changed some one's life forever. There will always be something there. If nothing else there is love. Love is the greatest gift one could give to another, and he gave his away to all his family. Now you can live on now to pass down what you have been given and share the magnificence of a good man.

My Dad & I weren't close until the last 20 years or so. When I got to know him I loved him even more. To tell you all the good memories would take more room than I have here, so suffice it to say we had a good time. He was a proud man, a good man, a self-made man who loved his wife, his family and God. We going to miss him doesn't give him enough credit...there's going to be one large gaping hole in our family.

I will never forget Grandad! He welcomed me into this family quite a while back and has always treated me as though I'd been in the family forever. It's so difficult to think of that one moment you want to share about a person, I just loved being around him, he always made me laugh. One of the funniest moments that does come to mind is when I was about 8 months pregnant and Jay and I visited for dinner one evening. While sitting around the table, Grandad asked me was I scared. I was surprised by the question and asked about what. His response was to shake his head and say "if I looked like you I'd be scared". I think I laughed so hard I cried!

I regret so much not helping him more in writing his biography, he had the best stories and the most interesting life. Great man, wish the girls had had more time with him...

Dad has always had a dry sense of humor. At family events you might think he wasn't listening and then all the sudden out of the blue he would respond comically to something that was said and it would crack everyone up. Even when Dad got sick he kept his awesome sense of humor.
