A GIFT FROM GOD AND LOVE LIKE NO OTHER
I never imagined a love like Charissa before I saw her smile from across the store at Winn Dixie in Athens.
Although then, the smile was not directed at me, I knew she was special and I would find out why.
And then began our journey of Love like no Other.
Her smile lights up a room for everyone in it. She is the ray of sunshine that brightened my everyday.
We looked forward to waking up each day, just to see each other again.
When I was away, I could not wait to get back to her. And when I walked through the door her eyes would light up that wonderful smile of hers.
We loved every minute together, and never wanted to be apart for any reason. She loved to just sit and talk with me no matter what it was about.
Our lives grew together over the years, as we liked the same music, movies sports and more. We shared the same thoughts and opinions on everything, most importantly our foundations of beliefs and faith.
We were truly ONE in each other.
We often shared our love with each other through song and music, and it was something we held very dear. The first song we labeled a "special song" for us was in our first few weeks together: "The Finer Things": "The Finer things keep shining through the way my soul gets lost in you".
We were lost in each other from the very first date.
She was the Finest Thing I have ever known.
The first card I gave her contained words from songs I had listened to many times but never felt the meaning of until Charissa:
"If the Sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you. When mountains crumble to the sea there will still be you and me".
"You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day, Lord you know it makes me high, when you turn your love my way".
She had never heard these words or songs before, but we listened to them together and enjoyed them over the next 25 years.
She was the sweetest, most beautiful and caring person I have ever known, always putting me and others first.
She brought so much laughter to everyone, and was a blessing to so many she touched.
Charissa was my precious soul-mate, and meant more to me than the air I breathe.
I will miss her so very, very much. I will honor her in everything I do as long as I live. She is now with her Lord Jesus Christ.
IT WAS TRULY A LOVE LIKE NO OTHER THAT I WILL CHERISH UNTIL I SEE HER AGAIN.
Her one and only Love,
Steve
