Gerald Spahn Obituary

SPAHN, GERALD - age 79 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon passed away suddenly, Sunday, February 26, 2012. Gerald played football at Indiana University and while serving in the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Dayton and his masters degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years of service. Gerald was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and former Ohio Bass Masters Champion. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Spahn; and his brother, William Spahn. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Spahn; daughter, Lisa Spahn Graves and husband, Joel of Michigan; step sons, Jeff and Rick Wellman; grandchildren, Justice and Carson Graves; twin brother, Thomas Spahn and wife, Carole of the Tellico Village Community; sister, Mary Ellen Spahn of Loudon; nephew and nieces, Thomas Spahn, Deborah Spahn, Karen Barnes and husband, Kurt, Sandy Bullington and husband, Marty, Susan Johnson, Patty Jumper and husband, John, along with several great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Christian Mathis officiating. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium with full military honors conducted by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, P O Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1580 St. Thomas Way, Lenoir City, TN 37772.
