Silas Clarence Gibbs, age 93, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the last founding charter member of KimWatt Baptist Church and blessed so many as a member of the Gibbs Family Singers. Silas was a Veteran of the US Army and retired after over 40 years as the owner of a cleaning service. He enjoyed travelling and felt blessed to be a part of the Honor Flight to Washington, DC to honor his service during WWII, as well as taking his journey to the Holy Land of Israel with his best friend of over 60 years, Ernie McGill.

Silas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margie Ann Gibbs and son, Steven C. Gibbs. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his children, Linda Snyder and husband Rodney, Carol Irick and husband Butch, Dennis Gibbs and wife Tina; daughter-in-law, Barbara Gibbs; grandchildren, Greg Snyder, Melanie Hamilton and husband DeWayne, Lauren Irick, Jordan Gibbs, Martin Gibbs, Amanda Weaver and husband Rusty, Brooke Gibbs; great-grandchildren, Chase Auer, Conner Auer, Brandon Snyder, Brittany Moorman, Nicholas Hamilton and wife Rachel; great-great-grandchildren, Autumn Moorman and Crista Viles; and other extended family and friends.

The family will Receive Friends at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 28th from 5-7:30pm. The Graveside Service and Military Honors will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Thursday, June 29th at 10am, with Rev. Louie Branch officiating. Grandchildren will act as pallbearers.
