ANGOLA - Mary A. Shearer, 88, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at her home in Angola.
She was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Fort Wayne, to Floyd and Lillian (Filler) Keipper. She graduated from North Side High School in Fort Wayne.
Mary married James L. Shearer on July 6, 1957.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Angola. She sang with the church choir for many years. Mary volunteered for the Red Cross and the Bloodmobile. She also enjoyed doing crafts, swimming with her local swim group and spending time with the girls from her high school class. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 61 years, Jim Shearer of Angola; and her children, Sally (Jeff) Miller of Angola, Robert (Sharilyn) Shearer of Hamilton and Dave Shearer of Indianapolis. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Adam (Emily) Miller, Audra (Ben) Morgan, Austin (Mariah) Miller and Aaron (Anna) Miller, and her six great-grandchildren, Weston, Khloe, Noelle, Heidi, Tucker and Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Kenny Keipper; and two sisters, Helen Woggoman and Eileen Stedman.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Angola. The Rev. Deborah Davis will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at a later date in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola.
Memorials may be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Angola.

I remember Mary from classes at the YMCA some years back. Always a bright smile even when having pain. Four Bibles are being distributed in her name and our prayers are with the family. -- Dick Randall
