Lucy Jane Brown, 89, of Bloomfield, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Life Care Center of Bardstown. She was the former Lucy Jane Fulkerson, born Nov. 6, 1926, to the late Emmett Columbus and Emma Catherine Manakee Fulkerson. She was a homemaker, a former food service employee at the old Bloomfield High School, and was of the Baptist faith.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Brown; a son, Donnie Brown; a grandson, Donovan Brown; and a granddaughter, Julie Brown.
Survivors include two sons, Emmett (Brenda) Brown, of Bardstown, Vernon (Sharon) Brown of Richmond; two sisters, Marguerite Stansbury and Mary Alice Karr, both of Bardstown; her brother, Earnest (Frances) Fulkerson, of Cox's Creek; her daughter-in-law, Donna K. Brown, of Bloomfield; a special niece, Connie Smothers; a special nephew, Emmett Karr; six grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will be in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.
Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
