Stevens, Frances Jane
Frances Stevens (Fran), of La Verne, CA, passed away November 29, 2012, with her husband at her side, after a long and
courageous battle with cancer. Fran was born September 11, 1934 in Pekin, Illinois, to James and Marjorie Lunini. She moved to CA with her family when she was 11. She married Merlin Perkins on September 22, 1952, at the San Gabriel Mission in San Gabriel, CA. Merlin passed away October 5, 1985. Fran married Rooker Stevens on February 14, 1987. She is survived by her husband, Rooker, four children; Linda Alex (George), Thomas Perkins, James Perkins (Rosalina) and Laurie Lucero (Robert); 12 grand-children, 5 great-grand-children, her sister, Jovanna Carle, and a host of close friends who will dearly miss her fun-loving nature and sense of humor. Fran loved to spend time with her family. The grandchildren have fond memories of camping and playing cards and games with Grandma. She loved to knit, crochet and sew and always had a project going. It seemed as if she could whip up an afghan at a moment's notice.
A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the cancer charity of their choice.
